Marketing & Promotion
The challenge - To promote Sleaford and its businesses over a wide area to give us a competitive edge in the battle for customers, in order to increase footfall, build customer loyalty and increase customer spend. It will also promote the town to prospective new businesses and investors, helping us to build a greater diversity of shops and businesses and provide even better customer facilities
So how are we doing? The BID board felt it was crucial to announce the fact that Sleaford is a Business Improvement District, especially as weare proud to be the first market town in the East Midlands to achieve this status. Businesses should be proud that they are directly contributing towards their town's future development, and we are in the process of promoting this with lamp post banners in Southgate. This coupled with the fantastic work achieved by 'Sleaford In-bloom' will give a welcoming entrance to our town.
Stickers for you to display in your business are available from me here at our office in Moneys Yard, so please feel free to call in and collect one, and also your car/van sticker,to enable us all to promote Sleaford on our local and national travels. I also have mugs, pens and writing pads (pictured above), which again are available from me. Please join us to help promote our great town and to show the rest of the region how enormously proud we are to be doing our bit for Sleaford!
In partnership with Sleaford Town Council, we are supporting local town events and this will be bolstered by substantial radio advertising to enable growing visitor numbers to increase footfall in Sleaford at these exciting events.
To make Sleaford more attractive generally, we are also sponsoring new planters in the town, and are happy to work with you our local businesses if you feel you would like to sponsor hanging baskets or planters in the town. Sleaford Town Council and BID are keen to develop the 'In Bloom' project, and as with other towns and cities, we would like to encourage you to sponsor the campaign to extend it to an all year round beautiful floral display.
