The challenge - To reduce crime and create a more secure environment for our businesses, employees and customers, which will cut losses caused by theft, vandalism and other antisocial activities, reduce insurance premiums, aid recruitment andencourage customers to visit, stay longer and spend more.
So how are we doing? After much discussion at board level it was decided that the most effective option to provide security cover on the industrial estates and enterprise parks in Sleaford, would be to employ a security patrol to operate 7 days per week between the hours of 6.00 p.m, and 6.00 a.m.
The first of these two officers have been appointed. The patrol will cover all the Sleaford area and will also consist of a walking patrol in the town centre. The BID security van will be equipped with a state-of-the-art CCTV camera to monitor and capture any incidents or individuals behaving suspiciously
Sleaford BID is working closely with the Police, The Community Safety Partnership and the CCTV monitoring centre in Grantham with the security project to enable a 'Zero Tolerance' campaign to crime and disorder in Sleaford. Sleaford businesses that opt to join this FREE initiative will be provided with stickers to display in the window of their premises. Applications to join the ZT Business Watch campaign are available from the BID office, or as a download from this website. Stickers will be sent to you on receipt of your application. The ZT Business Watch campaign also incorporates, and is working in partnership with the existing 'Pubwatch' and 'Shopwatch' scheme managed by Debbie Scott. The BID security van (pictured above) will act as a visual deterrent in the town and will be jointly branded with BID and Sleaford Town Council as the van will also be used during daylight hours by the new Sleaford Town Warden.
