Security
The aim of the BID's security priority is to reduce crime and create a more secure environment for the local businesses, employees and customers. Projects within this area will, it is anticipated, cut losses caused by theft, vandalism and other anti social activities with the long term aim to reduce insurance premiums, aid recruitment and encourage customers to visit, stay longer and spend more.
Mobile Security Service The security service which runs overnight, seven nights a week has been in place since 2008. Security officers patrol the BID area ensuring the safety of business properties and deterring potential offenders. They work closely with the Police and CCTV control to provide a comprehensive security service at low cost to each business.
Personal Alarms These branded alarms came as a result of joint funding from the Community Safety Partnership and are available to all BID businesses.
CCTV Additional CCTV cameras have been installed on two sites on the industrial estates and have been welcomed by local business people.
BIIAB Drugs Awareness Course The BID provided a days training for licensed hospitality staff leading to the BIIAB Drugs Awareness course.
Joint Agency Group The BID is a partner on the Joint Agency Group part of the Community Safety Partnership.
